Some of the most popular things to do in the area include skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cycling, and many other outdoor activities. But if you want to try out the night life, you can visit the local bars and restaurants, which range from sleek and modern to the quaint establishments you'd expect in a skiing paradise!
The area around the famed Mt. Washington is a winter paradise, but also great for activities at any time of year. If you're into New Hampshire skiing (or snowboarding), this is the place to do it, with backcountry, cross-country, and manicured slopes with lifts all available, the area was practically built for skiing.
Other great activities in the winter include snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice skating, and ice climbing, for those who want to get a bit more rugged. From Tuckerman's Ravine to Wild Cat Mountain Ski Area, and all the trails and frozen ponds in between, there's always something to do in New Hampshire's colder months.
Other Outdoor Fun
If you're looking to enjoy the outdoors in and around North Conway and the larger Mt. Washington Valley, there's plenty more to do in the fall and warmer months of spring and summer. Hiking and trail running are a great way to get out in the mountains, and cycling is great on both the trails and roads. Or you can take to the water for some canoeing or kayaking (and fishing) in the area to explore off the trails.
If something a bit more relaxed is your style, you can hit the links for a round of golf followed by dinner out on the town, or lounge by the Saco River for some great summer river swimming and adventures.
Out & About
You don't have to spend all your time outdoors to have fun in the area! In fact, you don't have to spend any time outdoors at all if you prefer a nice book by a warm fireplace with a hot drink. Regardless of whether you're wrapping up a day of adventures, or taking a break from the world, North Conway and the surrounding areas feature great scenic drives, local nightlife, great shopping opportunities, and nice places to eat.
Every year there are a number of fairs and festivals in the area, or you can jump across the border into Maine for the big annual home and garden show! Enjoy the quaintness of a New England town like something out of yesteryear.
